Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Product Review

I have very thick and curly hair and keep suffering from dandruff issues every now and then.

During winters it gets really worst and I have to opt for medicinal shampoos , at all other times and seasons I get away from dandruff issues with the Head and Shoulders shampoo.

So I thought of reviewing the  Head and Shoulders Smooth & Silky Anti-Dandruff Shampoo variant for you guys today .. This is specially formulated to cure dandruff without drying out the hair, so that the hair shines smooth and silky.

Directions to use:
Wet your hair. Gently massage onto scalp. Lather and rinse thoroughly. Repeat if desired.

• It comes in a flat white colored plastic bottle with some pink feather like print on it (I guess it's a way to tell that the variant is silk & smooth .. that's just my thoughts :P ) 
• The bottle is curved on one side which gives a distinguished shape to it.
• It has a blue colored flip cap mechanism to dispense the product , which makes the use of it all hassle free and convenient (mentioning this specially as the earlier packaging did not have a flip cap and the packaging was clumsy) . They made some packaging improvements making the product usage simpler:) 
• Product details are mentioned on the bottle. 
• Packaging is simple , basic, decent , handy ,travel friendly 
• It has pleasant fresh floral fragrance which is mostly not expected from an anti-dandruff shampoo :) 
• It has a white creamy texture of slightly thicker consistency , which lathers really really well when mixed with a little quantity of water.

My Experience with this ..! 

Well as mentioned earlier I am someone with thick , dry and immensely curly hair and obviously maintaining such hair type is most tedious and taxing .I get dandruff on regular basis , which becomes a major issue during winters.

I have been using the Head & Shoulders smooth and silky anti - dandruff shampoo from ages now :) .. so you know that it is thoroughly tried and tested ! 

Coming to the usage , I have ridiculously dry hair and I am extremely cautious of not using anything that is harsh on my hair . Since this is an anti-dandruff shampoo I never take any chance and put it directly on my hair . I mix some water in it , create a lot of lather and then gently use on my scalp.Massage for say 1-2 mins and rinse it off. It lathers really well and the floral fragrance is what makes the whole experience of using this blissful.

Few observations :

• It works better if I have applied hair oil around an hour before on my hair prior to using this .
• I tried using this without conditioner and I observed increased frizziness,dryness and tangled curls.Didn't really like it this way ! 
• It works best when followed up with a conditioner. (Any conditioner) 
• It removes dandruff on the first use itself.Scalps gets very clean and I feel dandruff free for decent 2 days .
• It doesn't work so well on very heavy dandruff . If you are someone with major dandruff issues then rather opt for medicated shampoo.
• It removes all excess oil from the hair.
• I don't really get the feel of silk & smooth hair as such , but dandruff relief is guaranteed :)
• The fragrance is pleasant and is not overwhelming.

All and all this was everything about my experience with this shampoo !

What Did I like about this product ?:

• Packaging is simple.
• So many Variants available.
• Helps in getting rid of dandruff.
• Pleasant fragrance
• Inexpensive
• Easily available

What did I dislike about this product:

• It is full of chemicals.If you are very ingredient conscious then you may not like this product.
• Fragrance could be strong for sensitive noses, for me it somehow works.
• It makes my hair dry if I use it without conditioner.

Recommended to use ?? 

Yes , if you have similar hair issues as mine and also you are looking for easy solution to dandruff issues.

No , if you have very dry hair , please keep yourself away from this one , it works best on dry to normal hair.
