I have been experimenting with a new highlighter launched by Lakme .. under the Lakme Absolute Highlighter Moonlit .. This is my very first highlighter ever !! Yes .. No Kidding .. I have never tried any highlighter before and I thought it was about time that I get myself one .. As Lakme is one of my most trusted brands I thought to start my glowy journey with this one .. I may be an amateur in this department but I experiment a lot and finally gathered guts to write this review for you guys .. I hope you will enjoy reading and find this blog helpful.. Even if one person gets the required help from this blog I think I will be sorted ..:) ..So let's jump right into the review.. !!

Product Details:

Packaging :

• This comes in a flat black colored plate /container like a compaq with an acrylic transparent lid .. housed in a black cardboard packaging.
• All the details regarding the product are mentioned on the cardboard as well as at the back of the black case that holds the highlighter.
• It is a 2 sided highlighter .. One is lighter shimmery sorts which is used to highlight cheekbones and other is more like a copper colored bronzer used for face contouring..
• The highlighter cake has an overall design pattern made on it like lines and checks which makes it even more beautiful to look at.
• It is a limited edition highlighter designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee
• The acrylic transparent lid makes it easier to see the shades and its locking mechanism is good as well.
• It is travel friendly as well .. I have been carrying it while I was on a tour recently.

Texture & Swatch :

• Texture is powder-like , you can pick it easily using a fan-brush or any blush brush to apply this.It's not like a loose powder and doesn't spread all over the face when applied.It sticks onto the skin where it is targeted to apply.
• It does not feather and application is very smooth.
• It contains fine velvet pearls to give your skin a stunning glow which gives a reflective finish glow.

My Take on this ..! 

Like I mentioned earlier .. I have not used highlighters before so using this one was intimidating for me.I experimented with this a lot and ended up loving it even more after every single use.

I set my base (foundation /setting powder) and then used this to highlight my cheek bones with the lighter one and then I went ahead to use the other side (bronzer one) to contour my face.It contains fine velvet pearl that give that reflective shimmery effect.

I first used it with my fingers to apply the product on my cheeks .. and later got myself a fan brush for a proper result.. Initially I observed that the highlighter is not a blinding highlighter .. it is rather subtle..and I could see tiny shimmery particles as well which I wasn't a huge fan of .. Later I observed that if used properly with the right amount of product it builds up really well and lasts quite long. I also used this to highlight the high points on my face like cheeks , chin , forehead and inner corners of my eyes..the more I experimented the more satisfied I was with my purchase.

Now coming to the bronzer that is used for contouring the face .. I mostly ended up using this as an eyeshadow .. Yep .. Seriously ! .. The color looks stunning on eyelids when used as an eyeshadow .. trust me and try it out yourself and you will know !! .. Contouring was easy too .. I had a hard time understanding how it is done .. but when I learnt that I was able to use it and get fair results.

What Did I like about this product ?:

1. Gives a stunning reflective glow on the face.
2. Initially it is light but is buildable.
3. Can be used as an eyeshadow as well as to highlight the inner corners of your eyes.
4. Looks luxurious.
5. It is a limited edition highlighter and has unique and beautiful look.
6. It is a 2 sided highlighter for highlighting and contouring.
7. Travel friendly.

What did I dislike about this product:

It is definitely on a pricier side . . And gives best results when you use it with a proper application brush .. so You need to purchase that as well .. 

Recommended to use ?? 

Yes .. If you are willing to experiment with highlighters and contouring then do try this..

As the Summer season is around the corner .. My hunt for products that give cooling and soothing effects on my skin starts and help my skin to face the wrath of the scorching heat .. This time it started with me finding a gel based face pack made up with aloe vera and cucumber extracts .. after being suffered from acne , all my skin needed is a fresh change and this one was a sigh of relief.. 

Let's jump right into the product review ..

Packaging :

• Packaging is basic & typical fabindia plastic tumbler with  a screw lid and has an inner white lid that helps the product from leaking or falling.
• All the product details are mentioned on a very pretty cool colored sticker on the tumbler , greens and yellow makes the packaging look very summery and fresh.

Texture:

• As you can tell the gel comes in aqua color , looking at the gel itself gives a very fresh and cool feeling.On application it is like a transparent layer.
• The texture is gel like (exactly how aloe vera gel feels) 
• Pea size amount is enough for entire face.
• It glides on easily as it is really smooth and slippery.
• Fragrance is very fresh and rather it smells like cologne to me .. But its not bothersome ..it is very fresh. 

My Take on this ..! 

I am on the recovery road from acne recently and have been leaning towards something that could help to calm down my skin .. so I started using this one as the contents Aloe Vera and Cucumber extracts seemed very promising.I use this on my cleansed face .. apply like a pea sized amount of it on my face.It gets distributed evenly and effortlessly.The fragrance is like some cologne sort of ..but very refreshing and its not overwhelming..also you could get hints of cucumber in its fragrance.So on application it is very calming and cools down my skin .. It appears like a thin transparent layer on the skin and it doesn't dry  out as it is a gel based face pack.Sometimes if my skin is too aggravated it tingles a little .. but then after its completely applied it starts giving a cooling sensation which helps in relaxing and calming down the skin.It is the perfect face pack for summers.
the aloevera has vitamin E which is just amazing for the skin also helps in combating the acne to some extend..and the cucumber extracts is what gives the cooling effect.
Using this did not aggravate any acne and instead helped my skin to calm and soothe down.. I enjoyed using this one .. I usually used it once a week.. And it lasted me for 2 months.

What Did I like about this product ?:

1. It's a good facepack during summers.
2. Doesn't dry out the skin and doesn't feel stretchy on the skin.
3. Works in calming and cooling down the skin.
4. Doesn't work on acne or scars much.

What did I dislike about this product:

1. Just little tingles sometimes.. 
2. Packaging could be improved.

As summers are on its way .. Rather I would say they have already arrived .. and it is so so hot already .. my cravings for trying out products that give cooling sensation increases.. I had bought this body wash from Original Source longtime back .. may be more than 7 months or so .. thinking that it will be  a simple mint variant body wash but it turned out to be quite cooling and tingling .. and Now as the summers and the heat is getting on my nerves .. • The green color that you see is actually the color of the shower gel ..! Yes.. It looks so so so refreshing and the color is really beautiful ..it doesn't transfer on the skin of course ..so no worries there.. :)
• Packaging is leak proof .. and travel friendly.
• Product dispenses easily and hassle free.
• The product details are all mentioned on the bottle .
• Texture is gel -like which is neither too thick nor too runny ..it's just about the way I prefer.. 
• Fragrance is really strong .. of Mint and Tea tree .. lingers for less time though..But during bath it is capable of bringing back to life all your senses...

My Take on this ..! 

First of all I would definitely want to requote that the original source about this shower gel .. "We've crammed 7,927 real mint leaves into our fully recyclable bottle. This super refreshing pack will definitely leave you tingling."..It seems they literally have crammed real mint leaves .. :P for a fact that it is so cooling and gives a major tingling sensation that you cannot ignore while taking bath.. 

When I used it for the first time .. I was like what the heck is happening .. A blast of minty fragrance ..and the extreme cooling effect...this shower gel was tingling all over and I could not get over the sensation right after I washed it out .. the tingling sensation was still there and I went a little panicky .. but in few minutes that feeling subsided ..& I ended up feeling really fresh and cool.. and it acted like a sigh of relief in the scorching heats of the summers.. 

Later to my surprise .. I actually was looking forward to that feeling .. :P hehe .. 

Coming to the consistency .. it is has gel like consistency which is neither too thick nor too runny .. It lathers really well and it does not dry out my skin .. Also the tingles and the cooling effect seems good after few uses.. At Least I got used to it and have started enjoying that feeling now.

What Did I like about this product ?:

1. Excellent for summers.. I would not prefer using this in any other season basically.
2. Cooling and tingling effects wakes you up completely and will bring back your senses to life :P

4. Does not dry the skin.
5. Travel friendly.

What did I dislike about this product:

1. Season specific.
2. Fragrance is very strong.
3. Not 100% natural as ingredients seem to have chemicals.
4. Availability could be an issue.

Recommended to use ?? 

Yes .. It does its job well ..recommended Only for summers to beat the heat !

• It comes in a simple Aqua colored ombre effect plastic bottle with spray mechanism.
• The spray is quite efficient in spraying the right quantity in a single pump.
• You can sea tiny drops of oil in the water .. It basically has a blend oil mixed with water so that the oil can break the most stubborn makeup while the water can provide the purifying properties.
• The texture is obviously water like.
• As you already know that water and oil are 2 non miscible liquids ..so the oil particles can be seen separately suspended over water. 
• It tastes a bit salty.. Na..I wasn't willing or trying to taste it .. But while I was removing my super stubborn matte lipstick .. It just happened accidently that I tasted it !! . .. :D

Key Ingredients :

My Take on this ..! 

Stubborn eye makeup ..especially the mascara , kajal ,eye liner & matte lipsticks are the most painful areas in my makeup routine that I need to deal with on daily basis.. Specially waterproof mascara really gives a hard time to be removed ..so I finally thought to try out this makeup remover .. The concept seem quite intriguing to me of mixing oil and water and achieve benefits of both as the oil works on stubborn makeup whereas the water works its way to purify and hydrate the skin at the same time.

Now coming to the part as to how to use it and did it really work .. ?? 

I first shake the product well so that the oil and water gets little homogenous ..and then basically spray this on my face and close my eyes and spray on my eyes..I need atleast 3 spritz to completely remove the makeup..So after spraying I let it sit for a minute then.. take a cotton pad .. keep it pressed on my closed eyelid for like 3 seconds and drag it .. repeat it if needed.. Similarly for my face I simply drag the cotton pad throughout to get all the gunk off my face .. 

This one works really well .. it gets all the makeup mostly in mostly 2 swipes .. Only if I have done some dramatic makeup over my eyes is when I need to go for more swipes.. 

It lasted me for exactly a month .. when I used this and only this makeup remover on everyday basis.. I did not get any breakouts or new zits after using this one .. and as it has oil and water it is safe to be used by people with sensitive skins too.

One downside though is that the spray wastes some product sometimes ..also I kind of find it difficult to work with it when I have to remove eye makeup .. As spraying sometimes is harsh on my eye if I spray it too close on my eyes.. or sometimes it slips into my eyes and mouth as it is very watery..I have started spraying this on my cotton pad to overcome this problem.

What Did I like about this product ?:

1. Effortless and quick way of removing makeup.
2. It easily removes the most stubborn makeup in no time.
3. It has oil and water which in addition to removing makeup also hydrates the skin.
4. It can be used by folks with sensitive skin. 
5. My skin did not break out after using this.
6. Its inexpensive as compared to other similar makeup removers in market.
7. One bottle lasts for one month comfortably if used on daily basis..but this is subjected to individual usage as well.

What did I dislike about this product:

Well I am not a fan of spray mechanism when it comes to makeup remover for a plain and simple fact that when I spray some of the product is wasted and sometimes  the spray seems harsh on the eyes. .also if you aren't careful then it gets into the eyes and mouth as we target mostly to remove eye makeup and lipsticks.. so I practically stopped using the spray directly and started spraying this on a cotton pad instead.

Recommended to use ?? 

Yes .. It works as it claims to work !
